Rare, declining numbers in Coast Guard red and white; scattered offshore oil use. Single air intake directly over cockpit; floats on outrigger braces; four symmetrical side windows; single horizontal stabilizer on port side; boat-type hull.

First delivered to the U.S. Coast Guard in 1963, it is being phased out in favor of more reliable twin-engine craft in both government and private service. Its amphibious ability (no extra flotation devices required) made it the choice, in the sixties, for transporting passengers between San Francisco and Oakland airports.
