Oval windows in the doors give this aircraft the most dragonfly-looking head of all helicopters, especially when
combined with the slim tail boom braced from beneath the fuselage .
Developed in the 1950s, the Hughes 269/300 was employed as the TH 55A "Osage," the U.S. Army's basic helicopter
trainer. The Schweizer Corporation has concentrated, with much success, on supplying police versions with some
armor plating and special floodlighting and public-address systems. The slightly larger Schweizer 330 shows a
small window behind the door, making it look like what it is, something halfway between a Schweizer 300 and the
Hughes/ McDonnell Douglas 500.
