Formed 1929 by C. G. Taylor and brother as Taylor Brothers Aircraft Corporation to market the Chummy side-by-side two-seat lightplane. Became Taylor Aircraft Company Inc founded in 1931 by C. G. Taylor to market the Cub, small tandem two-seat cabin monoplane, in Models E-2 and F-2. Company ran into financial difficulties; rights to Cub acquired by its secretary/treasurer, W. T. Piper, in 1935, who in 1937 formed Piper Aircraft Corporation. Taylor formed the Taylorcraft Aviation Company in 1936.
