Contracted in 1939-1940 to build wing units for Avro Anson twin-engined trainers and assemble Ansons in Australia for Commonwealth Air Training Plan. Merged early 1948 with Fairey Aviation Company Ltd. of U.K. (q.v.), becoming Fairey Clyde Aviation Company Pty. Ltd. carrying out repair/overhaul of Fairey Firefly and Hawker Sea Fury aircraft for Royal Australian Navy. Renamed Fairey Aviation Company of Australia Pty Ltd (q.v.) in November 1951.
