Aeronautica Agricola Mexicana SA was formed in 1971, after agreement between Rockwell International (USA) and Industries Unidas SA of Mexico to take over manufacture of Quail Commander and Sparrow Commander agricultural monoplanes. The Sparrow program finished, and the Quail Commander (a more powerful development with larger hopper) was built as AAMSA Quail.
