Kaman HOK-1, HUK-1, H-43A "Huskie"

After demonstrating the ability/ design of the K-225 to the US Navy and Coast Guard (the Navy bought two and the Coast Guard one) and the benefit of the synchropter design, Kaman was awarded a contract in 1950 to design a completely new helicopter for the Navy. Designated the HOK-1 the helicopter was to be designed to strict military requirements. The initial contract was to produce four test aircraft to fill the US Marine Corps requirement for an Observation Helicopter. The first flight took place on 21 April 1953 and production continued until 1958.

I just stumbled across this comment you posted on Aviastar.org in which you mention that you were working on a HOK restoration. Well, it just so happens that there are several intact HOK-1 /HH-43 rotors that are still packed in large unopened metal containers that have unfortunately been stacked-up outdoors in Connecticut for a few decades. If you might be interested in rescuing them and want to learn more details about them, let me know. To be completely honest, I'm not 100% sure that they are HOK rotors, but I'm over 95% sure they are. One case was opened years ago, and I can definitely say for sure that the cases are not empty. The rotor that has been exposed was in surprisingly good shape and still is, I think. There are at least 2 more unopened (maybe even completely sealed?) cases with blades packed inside.
