Back Bensen B-10 "Prop-Copter"

Bensen B-10

The B-10 Prop-Copter VTOL aircraft was flown in prototype form (N56U) on 6 August 1958 and was powered by two 72hp McCullochs, each driving a horizontal propeller.

I visited Dr. Benson's shop in the 60's and saw that machine....sitting off in a corner of his "office" where they were working on a different version of some flying bedsprings.

Wow, imagine if that thing tossed a prop blade....

COOL! Looks real scary. Wonder if this design would work using a couple of Briggs and Straton engines. If an R /C prototype could be made to fly, I'm sure it would make a interesting vid on YouTube.
