According to Cityjet's Wikipedia entry in 2019 Cityjet returned all its Sukhoi jets (number not stated) to the lessor (name not stated) due to 'insufficient operational reliability'. It looks a nice jet but one assumes it is built to Lada quality standards...

I stand corrected. Irish carrier Cityjet , now free of it's Air France shackles, have placed an order for 30. Who knows it could be a success story yet!

Barry, 18.09.2015 16:53

This was originally proposed as a family of 3 models, but is down to one a 95 seat. It has had delays in design production and certification. So bad have the problems been that United Aircraft was going to pull the plug on the project last year but were fortunately bailed out by the Russian government to the tune of $20,000,000. With orders from Russian airlines only, with the exception of Mexican second level carrier Interjet,if this aircraft is to succeed it really has to gain orders from Europe and/or the USA (some hope!).

Bravo. Its a great succses for the Russian aviation.

Barrett, 02.11.2008 19:38

Wow. This is probably the least clunky Russian plane I have seen, other than the recent MIG and Sukhoi fighters.

idriss lourghi, e-mail, 27.10.2008 18:50

it's a very serious step ahead for the russian civil aviation industry which is likely to regain golden days of the russian geneous.bravo

Ahmad Al-Haydari, e-mail, 13.09.2008 01:04
