Does anyone know what airfoil type that was used on the Weick W-1A and the design & construction details of the slot-lip aileron and glide flap system ? We are in the process of developing a 4 place version of this incredible aircraft (initially as a large scale model for testing) and would rather not have to reinvent the wheel on the above subjects.

The Ercoupe in the begining ,this plane did a lot to test out Fred Weicks no stall no spin designs that inded up on the 415c & other models of very safe airplanes & the airplane that want stall will not spin & I agree tricycle gear & wrong type gear .

Fred was the faculty advisor for the student chapter of the Institute of Aeronauticl Sciences and talked a little about this plane. It reportedly was spin & stall proof. The Pobjoy engine quit and the plane pancaked in and was destroyed. (In a schoolyard, if I remember correctly)I remember him discussing the physics of tricycle vs. conventional landing gear. It stuck with me. There's two kinds of gear--tricycle and WRONG.* *My words, not his.
