Garth Hickey, e-mail, 05.06.2025 07:24 I am building a Do 24 X3 which was sunk in Broom with refugees on board If you get a reply can you forward it on to me as I am donating the model to the Caboolture aviation museum and as much information as posable would be appreciated. The model has a wing span of 3.3 m it was originally built to fly but after 3 years work I would not take it if it crashed.

john christie, e-mail, 09.04.2010 17:44 On holiday in Majorca 1969 I saw flying boats patrolling the coast. I believe they were based in Puerto Pollensa. Was it these flying boats?

Barry, 12.01.2010 14:15 A development of the Do24 was planned. This was the Do318 which was a larger more capable aircraft of similar design. Two models were planned an Air Sea Rescue type capable of rescuing eight people and a larger longer range reconnaissance model.

richard, e-mail, 18.07.2008 07:11 I'm assuming that one or more Dornier DO 24 were used to evacuate refugees from the Netherlands East Indies in 1942. Does anybody know how many passengers each of these planes could carry?

Dr. Gerhard Kriechbaum, e-mail, 19.04.2008 16:16 From 1980 through 1984 the amphibian technology demonstrator, known as the Do 24 ATT (Amphibischer Technologie-Traeger) was developed and flight tested by Dornier. It incorporated the overhauled hull and empenage from the last flying Do 24 T seaplane which was returned from Spain in 1971. The Do 24 ATT had a new wing, 6 new torboprop engines, a nose wheel landing gear and all new systems. As program manager of this program I have many pictures and would be happy to answer any questions.
