First flown in 1928 the SET 3 was a two seat trainer which eventually received an order for 10 which were delivered to the air force's training school at Tecuci. Another order was received for a further twenty in December 1930. The plane was developed into various sub types e.g. the SET 31 which featured a split axle and the SET 31G which was used for a long distance flight between Bucharest and Saigon.
