Designed as a result of a request from the"Direction Generale Technique", the Ni-590 was to be a multi role aeroplane for the French colonies. It's duties were to include policing, reconnaissance, observation, bombing and casevac. The first example of two flew sometime in the week 27th June - 3rd July 1932. In November 1932 it was exhibited at the Paris Aero Show and following successful trials and testing at Velizy- Villacoublay Air Base it was joined by a second example. However, the Bloch MB 120 was given a contract so that was that.
