Only six of these reconnaissance aircraft were built after an initial order from the R.A.F. in 1923. Three went to the R.A.E., and they were used more in a training role than the role for which they were designed. Taken out of use by 1931 all but one were scrapped the final aircraft being taken to Hamble for instructional use.
