I flew the aircraft out of the strip by the factory at Seven Hills, N.S.W., Aust. in the 1970's. The factory director was Gilbert Forrester a friend of mine and I was flying trips to Sydney for PAA at the time. Asked if I could fly it around, he said it's over there and fueled go take it out. I took it out for about an hour, very easy to fly, fantastic control respoonces, slow flight at 40 very stable. Came back and landed , stable on approach and touch down, taxied back, parked, that was it. I think it would have wiped piper off the map, but think piper got. the FAA from certifing it in the states at Woodland Airport, Ca. from a fixed wing operator who wanted to import them. So can't bring them back to the states, except as an Expermintal non-com. aircraft!!

My earliest flying memory's are of these planes as my dad used to be the loader driver for one of the main operators of these aircraft in NZ when I grew up. While Hamish didn't make it back from a day at work some years back (he wasn't flying an Airtruck then) his widow still has ties and contacts with the remaining aircraft. If you want try to track down Betty Ross at Rotorua airport in New Zealand
