In the village of Vasknarva you can see the ruins of the Livonian Order Castle (Neuschloss in German) and a Russian Orthodox Church. There is another church in the village of Jaama just a few kilometers northwards.

Vasknarva is also a place where the river Narva has its source flowing out of the Lake Peipus. Have a look on houses on the opposite side of the river - you are on the EU border with Russia !
