Founded in 1956 by Ernst Heinkel Flugzeugbau and
Messerschmitt AG as a joint enterprise to manufacture
under licence French Fouga-Potez Magister jet
trainers for the Luftwaffe, production of 210 being completed
in 1963. Later activities included the procurement
of spares for German military aircraft and preparing technical
manuals.
