Founded in 1938; factories at St Hubert, Quebec, and Malton, Ontario. Contracted directly by the British government to speed up British rearmament program for the RAF. Basically acted as parent company for six Canadian firms: Canadian Car & Foundry Co. Canadian Vickers, Fairchild Aircraft, Fleet Aircraft, National Steel Car Corporation, and Ottawa Car & Aircraft. First contract in Autumn 1938 for 80 Handley Page bombers, later increased, but company wound up in 1942.
