Zavod A.A. (for ArturoAntonovich) Anatra founded Odessa 1913. Important during First World War, with factories at Odessa and Simferopol, Ukraine. By 1917 company was building own designs, plus Voisins and Nieuports, to a total monthly output of 80. Anatra VI (designed 1915) was essentially a developed Voisin; hence initial letters signifying 'Voisin Ivanov'. From March 1915 one year's output of VI type was intended to total about 150, though this quantity not completed until mid-1918. Anatra D was German Albatros derivative, with distinction of using rotary engine. Later DS had Salmson radial engine. Company ' activities ceased in early 1920s.
