With tip jets and a compressed air supply this could be a self
contained unit. If I were to build a replica I would use Aluminium tubing and struts to cut the weight in half and
carry a scuba tank to power them. Flight could be extended with a 100 watt pedal driven compressor.

This is an interesting, inexpensive, advanced approach to problem solving which reflected a more or less futuristic answer to simple problems. What we see today as a problem solved by radar and counter electronic warfare was easily solvedfor only a few dollars in the 1940's
