I was a good friend of Martin Jensen and stayed with him in Long Beach in 1965 as we rebuilt the coax. I have some film of his 1940s machine flying

The writer worked for Bendix Helicopters during the devlopment period of 1946 & 1947.Other Info Sources, like this one, usually confuse the planned 4-place production helo, the model J, with the development test single place model K, which was in fact the first Bendix Helo to fly. It was a fortunate decision, for the original control concept patented by Vincent Bendix required redesign. The model J first flew in 1947 incorporating the lessons learned from the testing of the model K.
