I would agree with Tony. Such an aerodynamic design even with 750 HP should have reached 300 MPH. 229 would be ridiculous, it could hardly catch a loaded JU88 or He111.

According to the Book of Miles Aircraft, Harleyford, the top speed was circa 300 mph,which accords with the weight and cockpit changes
