Designed by David Thurston and first flown in 1968, the TSC-1A Teal was the first product of the 1966 established Thurston Aircraft Corporation of Sandford Maine. Thurston joined Schweizer Aircraft Corporation in 1972 and they continued to market the aircraft as the TSC-1A2 Teal II until selling the rights to the Teal Aircraft Corporation of Markham Ontario in 1976. This company developed the the Teal TSC-1A3 Marlin but they went the way of so many others in 1979. A couple of outfits toyed with the plane in South Africa, but this came to nothing. Total production 38.
