Gerhardt Cycleplane

The world's first successful human-powered aircraft. It was designed by Dr. W. Frederick Gerhardt, and assembled by the staff of the Flight Test Section at McCook Field in Dayton, Ohio. The only human-powered takeoff of the Cycleplane was a short hop of 6m with the craft rising 0.6m.
