Firstly this is a single engine training aircraft not two. It was never used by Aeronautica Militaire (Italian Air Force), but it was sold to the Philippine Air Force (PAF) who took 25 including 15 delivered as kits for local assembly. The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) took 32 including 24 supplied as kits. Later they obtained a further two from Haiti (q.v.) as attrition replacements. The aircraft were flown by 130 and 131 squadron both based in Australia. In fact 21 were retired and sold off privately to the Australian I.A.P. Group who in turn sold off some 15 to the private market in Australia. Four were purchased by the Haitian Air Force in 1985 which retired them on 23rd April 1990 and put them up for sale. Two were used in co-operation with Grumman, later Northrop Grumman, as an entry into the U.S.A.F. JPATS, coming second to the Boeing /Pilatus entry.
