I live just outside London in what you would call an old Folks home. I am 96 years old but I remember seeing you on that platform with Adolf Hitler like it was yesterday. I was seven years old and my father who worked at the British Embassy took me to the 1936 Olympic Games.
You were probably 16, and beautiful, you were the personification of what the world was calling the Master Race. Ice blonde hair, crystal ice blue eyes and a confidence that I found amazing for your age.
The 1936 Olympic games in Berlin was incredible to see when I was seven years old.
Historians today who think they know all about the History of World War II, are naive in their perspective. By 1943, a very serious deadly race was going on. President Roosevelt knew in great details about the Nazi Atomic Bomb Program. He knew by 1943 a dirty lethal Atomic Bomb had been exploded inside Russia. This was conducted by the Germans to try to slow down the Red Army. It killed more than 20,000 Russians, but STALIN who did not know what happened just shrugged his shoulders and ordered the Red Army to keep advancing.
It was then that Hitler, who felt a sense of rage, ordered that New York would be used for the next Atomic Bomb Attack.
By 1942 the first Junkers JU-390 was photographed flying supplies to North Africa. At first it caused just a ripple of interest in this aircraft.
By 1943, three of these aircraft had been built, with one being the Long Range Recon Aircraft used by Hans Pancherz and Anna Kreisling.
Make no mistake, the Luftwaffe always flew Recon Missions before any bomblng. This was true over England in the Summer of 1940, and it was true in 1943. Another important thing to understand, is that Martin Bormann and Heinrich Himmler with Adolf Hitler's approval was conducting talks with the OSS and President Roosevelt and MI6, on how to end the war without using the Atomic Bomb. This was called OPERATION PAPERCLIP.
These talks were going slowly, to slow, and Germany needed to demonstrate that they could destroy New York and London if they had to. This led to the Junkers JU-390 leaving Norway on August 27th and flying towards Iceland, where a Junkers JU-290 Tanker aircraft was waiting to refuel the JU-390 flown by Hans Pancherz and Anna Kresiling.
The plan was simple, if the refueling was successful, the Junkers JU-390 would proceed to Canada. If not it would return to Norway.
It was successful, and on the morning of August 28th 1943 both Anna and Hans were thrilled when they entered American airspace over Michigan.
Then fear came to them when they saw four squadrons of AT-6 Training aircraft come out of nowhere and surround them. Anna kept her nerve and took off her blouse and headset and began pressing her breasts up against the cockpit glass and blow kisses to the flying cadet students. They flooded the radio's with a call about a Hot Blonde in a B-24 Liberator, she had to be seen to be believed!!
For eight minutes they flew along together in a dangerous formation of AT-6 Trainers trying to get closer for another look at the Hot Blonde!!
When they went their separate ways, the flying cadets still had no idea that they had met up with a Luftwaffe Recon aircraft. They were flying over Michigan and they assumed it had to be a B-24 Liberator!
The rest is well documented, at Noon the JU-390 was over New York city, they used the Empire State Building as ground zero for their pictures. After three slow and lazy turns over New York, they headed out for the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean. Nine hours later Anna would bring the Junkers in for a landing at a Luftwaffe base just outside Paris.
After this Recon Flight, Operation Paperclip would move quickly. Martin Bormann would be flown to Capetown South Africa to meet with the OSS and top Allied Leaders. Agreements would be reached, papers signed. With the promise that the Atomic Bomb would not be used against Germany. That no B-29's would be based in England, and New York would not be destroyed by a Nazi Nuclear Weapon.
Operation Paperclip would be the most successful operation of World War II, and led to a successful COLD WAR against Stalin and Russia.
