The Go 145 was one of our training airplanes at the A /B school Straubing Donau I will never fotget my cross country flight from Straubing to Wiesbaden on August the 8th 1939( GO 145 IEIG) 11,17 to 17.56(!!!) I could not get to Wiesbaden -Erbenheim. The Rhein valley and the Taunus were fogged in and I run out of gasolin. So I put her down at a meadow near the Opel automobil factory near Sosenhemi at 13,25.
Well I got gasolin from, a Luftwaffen emergency truck, took off at 17.48 , clear weather and landed in Wiesbaden at 17.56 Highly praised by the majorin front of company

The Ernst Heinkel Flugzeugwerke in Germendorf (near Oranienburg) had one of those, and I was privileged to get my L-1 Schein ( roughly equivalent to a Private Pilot License) on it. The year was 1943 and I was a 15 year old apprentice in my second year at Heinkel. For an ab-initio trainer it had too much power I remember (Argus ASC 10 engine with an output of 210 DIN Horsepower, which is about 250 SAE Horsepower). On my first solo cross-country (triangle) flight I bent the undercarriage pretty bad on landing in a crosswind at Gardelegen ( a Paratrooper Training Field). But they fixed it, and I was allowed to finish my last leg after a week's delay.
The lower wings had a shorter span, which is not so apparent on the picture. I think the proper term for that configuration is "Sesqui-plane".
