Its just an ordinary Militar Wal, JII, I think reply | Barry, 15.09.2010 16:55 As Keith rightly posted on the 14 /01 /2007 the aircraft illustrated is a Dornier Do J Wal which was sometimes confusingly known as a Do 15. The Do Y was three engined bomber of which possibly 4 were built. The first 2 models (Werke No 232 and 233)which were powered by Bristol Jupiter VI engines with 2 bladed wooden props were ordered and delivered to the Yugoslavian goverment in October 1932. They were later captured by invading German forces in 1941. The next two models again ordered by the Yugoslav goverment were powered by Gnome Rhone Jupiter 9 Kers engines with 3 bladed metal props offering a better all round performance. reply |
