Robin HR.100 Royal, Safary, R.1180 Aiglon1969 |
TOURING AIRCRAFT | Virtual Aircraft Museum / France / Robin |
This first all-metal design from Robin was also the first designed without a gull-wing configuration that had been inherited from Jodel designs, and the prototype was a modified DR.253. The initial HR. 100-200 Royal version had a 200hp engine, but this was up-rated for the Safari version. The specified HR 100/285 introduced a retractable undercarriage, and late in production life a 250hp Tiara engine was offered. Production of the HR.100 ended in 1976 with 174 examples built. Since then modifications to weight, cabin and cabin content have been implemented and re-designated as marques of the R. 1180 Aiglon which continued production in modest numbers.
