Morane-Saulnier M.S.340 - M.S.3451933 |
TOURING OR TRAINING AIRCRAFT | Virtual Aircraft Museum / France / Morane-Saulnier |
The prototype Morane-Saulnier M.S.340, flown during April 1933, was designed as a touring or training aircraft. It retained the company's usual parasol-wing monoplane configuration, but introduced 18° of wing sweepback. Of mixed construction, the M.S.340 was fabric-covered with the exception of the metal engine panels. Principal production version was the M.S.341 and some 40 aircraft of all versions were built up to 1937. Two were flown as liaison aircraft by government (anti-Franco) forces in the Spanish Civil War.
