mike hallam, e-mail, 17.11.2012 23:14 Dave Wise in England has made a major study of all the Jodel aeroplanes which are loved in the UK as a most efficient light a /c. Good for touring and grass strip use. He has a web page, currently being reformed carrying a wealth of information. The LAA UK administer Permits to Fly. I flew a CEA Dijon built Jodel 1051 with 105 CV Potez 4E 20A for twenty years. Home & several factories built them. Others e.g. 119, 118, 90, 100, 105, 150, 1050, DR400, etc. etc. reply | mali, 18.06.2011 07:01 If I recall correctly, the original Jodel used surplus VW engines from German WW-II military stock at the ende of the war. reply | Wm. H Kreps, e-mail, 28.02.2011 20:53 I built a JODEL D-9 V W Powered, single seater. It was a joy to fly. I lived in Long Beach California at that time. My Jodel was hangered at CHINO, Cal. air port. reply | ERIC CLUTTON, e-mail, 03.01.2011 04:33 The VW powered Jodel was single place. Very Light. I flew one with a 1200 VW and it went very well. Many versions of the two place. I had a 117A with a Continental C.90. Bought in Tangier . Spoilers under the wing really killed the lift for X-wind landings.. reply |
