The RF 4 I found to be a fantastic aircraft to fly. A very high cruising speed for such a low powered aircraft. Used to be good for throwing around but a bit slow on the ailerons if I remember correctly. Woe betide anyone who forgot to put the wheel down; that used to cosy you around £60 In the early 70s. Since then they have taken prop strikes more seriously so would now probably cost an engine rebuild as well as the prop.

The RF4 and RF5 were manufactured in Germany by Putzer Sportavia located at Dahlimer Bintz airfield. In 1968 I toured the factory, met Herr Putzer, and he let me fly an RF4. Nice plane; I really liked it.

I am proud to say my dad owns an RF-4 and RF-5 in the States, and has a father of his own that owns an RF-4.

Is there anywhere in Canada where I might purchase a Fournier RF3 or RF4 or RF4D these days? I've read articles about how wonderful they are to fly.
