Inspired by the Curtiss Flying boats, the Donnet Leveque A was the first French Flying boat. It first flew on 15th March 1912 and on 9th August that year attempted a flight from Paris to London, but never actually got beyond Boulogne. There is an example in the French Musee de l'Air et de l'Espace.
