The Avaition Militaire decided against Bernard because of the time delay in using the slots i.e. it was 10% slower at reaching 3,000 meters (9,800 ft) and they were concerned at the "chaotic nature" of Bernard's management structure. The improved Bernard 261 with a more powerful Hispano-Suiza 12 Ybrs and retractable undercarriage was started but never flown. reply |
