| Designed by Andre Brunet, the Mureaux 190 lightweight
single-seat fighter was of all-metal construction and powered by a Salmson 12 Vars 12-cylinder inverted-
Vee air-cooled engine of 450hp. Proposed armament
comprised an engine-mounted 20mm cannon
and two wing-mounted 7.7mm machine guns. The
prototype Mureaux 190 was flown for the first time in
July 1936, but tests were abandoned in 1937 because of
the poor reliability of the Salmson engine, and a projected
development with a retractable undercarriage,
the Mureaux 191, was dropped.
