Tim Searle, e-mail, 15.07.2009 23:36 There is a little more in Jackson's book on Avro aircraft: well, 4 lines of text plus lower span extra to this page. Very little was known in 1965 about it; might be worth checking the most recent ed of his book to see if anything more turned up. Jackson has the same g /a and probably originated it. L.E Bradford gets the credit. He has no photo.
On folders: yes quite a few. The 519 and the 529 for example, but not all g /a diagrams show the folded config. Look for little triangular features in the upper wing which you take out before folding: the Aldershot (in Jackson) is one of several. reply | Martin Giles, e-mail, 29.05.2009 06:36 Does "anyone" have information on this aircraft. Bruce (British Aeroplanes 1914-1918)claims that only the fact of its existence has survived. I have seen no other photographs than the one shown here. Who did the 3-view, and was it based on the photo???? Did AVRO ever build a "folder"? reply |
