Terrence Murphy, e-mail, 15.01.2014 21:46 After doing a little more research, those engines were rated at 300 hp, not 345. And the 30.07 prototype (Gr.I)was tractor powered while 30.17 and 30.18 were pusher-pullers. reply | Terrence Murphy, e-mail, 12.01.2014 18:57 Lots of confusion here: As with other Austro-Hungarian manufacturers, The Austrian Aviatik company was allocated a number series for prototypes and experimental aircraft (series 30). Some of these were actually production aircraft with modifications but most were distinct aircraft or variants. This is the Aviatik 30.17 (Gr.II) and the 30.18 (Gr.III)both powered by 2 Daimler V12 345hp engines. Both were related to the 30.07 prototype which was built earlier. reply |
